Poplar Bluff
A 15-year old sophomore football player from Poplar Bluff remains in critical condition in a St. Louis hospital after he collapsed yesterday during the team’s first football practice. During drills an athletic training noticed the player staggering before falling to the ground. The trainer and assistant football coach Jay Dowd performed CPR on the student until an ambulance arrived. At one point, the player had stopped breathing and didn’t have a pulse.
