Jason Vargas threw seven scoreless innings, and Raul Ibanez hit his first home run since joining the club as the Royals beat the Minnesota Twins 4-0 to take two out of three in the series.

Ibanez finished with two hits and two runs scored and Mike Moustakas and Jarrod Dyson hit RBI singles in the second inning against Kevin Correia (4-10).  Ibanez tacked on an insurance run in the eighth.  Eric Hosmer, who walked three times, added an RBI single in the ninth inning for good measure.

Vargas improved to 4-1 in his last eight starts. Vargas becomes the first Royals lefty to win eight games or more since 2003.
