Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas hit a three-run double in the second inning and finished with two hits to back Jason Vargas and the Royals’ solid bullpen in a 3-2 win over the Colorado Rockies that completed a two-game sweep.

The bullpen has gone 19.2 innings without giving up a run as Louis Coleman, Kelvin Herrera and Greg Holland went 2.2 innings today while allowing just one hit and a walk combined Vargas struck out eight while giving up two runs on five hits including a homer.

In all, the Royals pitching staff dealt 23 strikeouts to the hottest hitting team in baseball over the two game series. With the win, the Royals move one game above .500.
