Head Coach Kim Anderson added much needed depth at the point guard position by announcing Keith Shamburger, the 2014 Big West Conference assist leader from Hawaii, as a new addition to the 2014-15 Tigers roster.

Shamburger, a native of L.A., is expected to finish his  undergraduate degree at Hawaii this summer, then become immediately eligibility for the Tigers next season.

The 5’11, 170-pound guard is ready to help out in any way he can.  He’s already talked with Jabari Brown and after playing Mizzou at Sprint Center last season, he had nothing but positive takeaways from that game.

“I’m excited to be joining Mizzou, and after playing that game in Kansas City last year, seeing the fans, seeing the support and seeing how much the players felt a part of that school, it really opened my eyes,” Shamburger told MUTigers.com. “I know Jabari Brown and me talked once I made my decision to leave Hawaii.  I’m coming here to do whatever Coach Anderson needs from me,” Shamburger added. “I feel like I have some experience, some maturity and I want to be a guy that can help these young guys out in the backcourt. I want to do whatever I can to help us win.”

Shamburger was also considering offers from Auburn and Tennessee in the SEC, as well as Maryland.
