A Kennett man is now charged with first-degree murder in the death of his wife, who died in a southeast Missouri hospital Friday.
51-year-old Allan Branum had been charged with assault and armed criminal action for shooting his wife, Regena, in the head on Thursday. The Dunklin Daily Democrat reports the charge was upgraded after her death.
