Peter Fairbanks, a St. Louis native, pitched a career-best eight innings, and held the Illinois Illini to just two runs as the Mizzou baseball teams pulls out the major league ballpark sweep, with a 5-2 win at Busch Stadium on Wednesday night. The win comes one night after the Tigers first ever win at Kauffman Stadium.

Fairbanks threw 84 pitches, 57 for strikes and was backed by an offense that pulled away in the middle innings, opening up a 5-1 through five innings.  Dylan Kelly went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI, both coming on a double to left field in the fifth inning. The two RBI gave Kelly nine two-out RBI on the season.

Mizzou, at 19-21 overall, will head to Gainesville, FL this weekend to take on the No. 1 Florida Gators.
