The Missouri Tigers wrapped up another spring practice on Tuesday afternoon and announced that senior defensive lineman Matt Hoch will miss six weeks after undergoing surgery on his ankle. He had the surgery on Sunday after breaking his ankle.

Hoch, from Harlan, IA, was named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). A second team honoree, Hoch compiled an outstanding 3.96 GPA in the middle school education major, all while starting 22 games in the trenches for Mizzou over the last two seasons.

Hoch ha recorded 35 tackles, including 4.0 tackles-for-loss and 3.0 sacks, in 10 starts on the Tigers’ defensive line in 2013, setting a season-best in sacks.

Running back Marcus Murphy suffered a sprained ankle and running back Russell Hansbrough a right shoulder sprain. Both players are listed as day-to-day. Last season, the two combined for over 1,100 yards rushing behind Henry Josey.
