USA Baseball set their roster for the World Baseball Classic which will be played in March. The team managed by Joe Torre, will have Cardinals relief pitcher Mitchell Boggs and Royals relief pitcher Tim Collins. Collins, whose nickname is Tiny, is only 5’7, but throws in the 90’s. Boggs, another guy who tops out in the mid 90s, had just a 2.21 ERA in 78 games and pitched in nine of the Cardinals 10 postseason games.

Other major leaguers from our teams include, Royals starting catcher Salvador Perez, who was picked by his home country, Venezuela. Reliever Kelvin Herrera, was named to the Dominican Republic team. Right-hander Luis Mendoza, is on Mexico’s roster and left-hander Bruce Chen, the Royals’ top winner last year, will pitch for China. He was born in Panama, but three of his four grandparents were born in China.

As for the Cardinals. Catcher Yadier Molina and outfielder Carlos Beltran will play for Puerto Rico. Reliever Fernando Salas will pitch for Mexico.
