The Blues have acquired goaltender Ryan Miller and forward Steve Ott from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for goalie Jaroslav Halak, forward Chris Stewart, prospect William Carrier, a first-round draft pick in 2015 and a third-round draft pick in 2016. Miller and Ott will join the team in Phoenix, where the Blues play Sunday.
Miller has started 40 games for Buffalo and has a 15-22-3 record with a goals against average of 2.72. Those are outstanding numbers for a Sabres team that is last in the NHL with 17 wins and only 42 points.
Halak was 29-4-4 with a 2.23 GAA in 38 starts. Stewart was fifth on the team with 15 goals and led the team with 112 penalty minutes.
Ott is a centermen with 9 goals and 10 assists. The 31 year old was a former first round pick of Dallas in 2000, taken 25th overall.
The Blues face Anaheim tonight, a team they trail in the standings by three points, but have two games in hand in the Western Conference.
