The 21st anniversary MFA Oil-Break Time Shootout on Sunday, January 26 at Mizzou Arena will match top teams from the state of Missouri. This annual fundraiser for the Show-Me STATE GAMES will bring in 12 high school basketball teams to play at Mizzou Arena. Tickets are $10.

12:40pm – Father Tolton vs. Iberia
2:20pm – Columbia Hickman vs. Hazelwood Central
4:00pm – Fatima vs. Hermann (girls)
5:40pm – Helias vs. Warrensburg
7:20pm – Salisbury vs. Cairo
Celebrating its 21st year in 2014, the MFA Oil-Break Time Shootout is the longest-standing fundraiser for the Show-Me STATE GAMES. During the 21 years of the event, many great players have been a part of the Missouri basketball tradition, including Dorial Green-Beckham, David Lee, Justin Gage, and Ben and Tyler Hansbrough.
Team capsules:
Versailles–A once basketball rich tradition looks to get back to the glory days. Coming off a 10-16 season, the Tigers return four starters and three reserves from last year.
Sacred Heart–The Gremlins are 345-133 over the last 16 seasons with 9 district championships, 6 conference titles and 5 conference tournament titles.
Father Tolton–In just their second year in varsity basketball, this team has no seniors yet on their team. The team lost in OT to California in last year’s Shootout and they have a lot of size. Two kids, Michael Porter (Fr) and Josh Boyer (Jr) are both 6’6.
Iberia–The Rangers are coming off a 28-4 record and third place finish in Class 2. Four the the team’s top seven players return. 6’10 sophomore Dexter Frisbie wears a size 19 shoe.
Hickman–The Kewpies enter the game on Sunday with a 15-1 record after losing Wednesday night for the first time this season. The Kewpies took third place in last year’s Final Four.
Hazelwood Central–The Hawks bring a competitive team with seven seniors on the squad, led by 6’2 guard and All-conference performer Demarco Buchanan.
Fatima Lady Comets–Fatima comes into this season on the heels of their first 20-win season in more than five years. The Lady Comets have won three conference championships in Dustin Hays’ first three years with the team.
Hermann Lady Bearcats–They returned all their players from last year’s 23-5 team that shared the Four Rivers Conference title as well as winning districts.
Helias–The Crusaders are regulars at the Show Me Games Shootout, and are back after a year off from their 2011-2012 visit to Mizzou Arena. They return four starters from a team that went 14-13 in 2012-13.
Warrensburg–Chris Nimmo’s squad brings back three starters and five other letterman. The Tigers like to push the ball up the floor and play pressure defense.
Salisbury–It may be a bit of a transition period for the Panthers that went 30-1 with a Class 2 title, with just two starters returning. Salisbury beat the defending champs West Platte 70-46 in the finals last year.
Cairo–The Bearcats are led by Brad Roberts who just passed the 2,000 point plateau and 1,100 rebounds. Cairo has three players that average double-digit scoring per game with Roberts averaging 20 ppg.
