Auburn fans cheer a Tre Mason touchdown in the second half

Tre Mason rushed for 304 yards and four touchdowns, leading No. 3 Auburn to a 59-42 victory over No. 5 Missouri in a Southeastern Conference Championship game. This game by far blew away the record for most points scored in this game.

Auburn set an SEC championship game record with 677 yards, including 545 on the ground. Mason had scoring runs of 7, 3 and 1 yards before bursting up the middle on a 13-yard TD that clinched the victory with 4:22 remaining, after James Franklin failed to convert on a 4th and 1 to Dorial Green-Beckham.

DGB had six catches for 144 yards including two touchdowns. Their first connection, a 28-yarder gave the Tigers a 7-3 lead. The two hooked up on a play at the end of the first half after the safety pinched, there was one on one coverage and DGB beat his man for a 55 yarder to pull Mizzou to within 28-27 at the half.

The lead changed five times and Mizzou had a 34-31 lead with 5:35 to go in the third quarter, but Missouri could never hold the lead for very long. Mizzou led for just seven minutes in the game despite going on top on three different occasions.
