James Franklin last attempted a pass on October 12 at Georgia and missed the next four games. Now, the senior and captain is ready to start this Saturday at Ole Miss and he says he’s healthy and expects to play better than before the injury.

Franklin has completed 67.7% of his passes for 1,577 yards with 14 touchdowns with only three picks. Franklin says that because of his shoulder injuries he’s had to change his throwing motion. He actually thinks the ball is coming out of his hand better now than before the injuries.

Franklin has been recognized as a semifinalist for The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, which recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football with ties to the state of Texas. Franklin, from Corinth, TX,  is one of 16 semifinalists from around the country and just one of three from the Southeastern Conference.
