Adam Wainwright allowed two hits in 5.1 shutout innings and tied for the league lead in victories with Washington’s Jordan Zimmermann at 19, as the Cardinals beat the Cubs 6-2.

Wainwright got his sixth RBI of the season with a single in a four-run third. Holliday and Matt Adams drew one-out walks ahead of Molina’s two-run double, and Pete Kozma had an RBI single off Edwin Jackson. Holliday also hit a two-run homer in the first inning.
