Mizzou football is still finding ways to land recruits in the state of Texas. The Tigers got their 14th commit for the 2014 season on Sunday, when linebacker Roderick Winters of Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas committed.  Winters was a wide receiver as a sophomore and switched  to linebacker his junior season where he found his home and finished with 93 tackles last fall. That caught the eye of defensive coordinator Dave Steckel who offered a scholarship.

“He was just an average receiver, so after his sophomore year we needed help on the defensive side of the ball,” Winter’s High School coach Danny DeArman, told the Kansas City Star. “We moved him to linebacker and he is just knocking people out.”

Winters is from the same high school that former Tiger Kip Edwards and current player, Russell Hansbrough attended.
