A gay Catholic priest has come out, prompting a response by the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
The church says it hopes Reverend Gary Meier uses his platform to promote Catholic teachings and help those who have struggled with same-sex feelings. Meier left the active ministry last year to pursue a master’s in counseling at the University of Missouri St. Louis. He says he’ll re-publish a book that was previously released anonymously titled “Hidden Voices, Reflections of a Gay, Catholic Priest.
