St. Louis native and Missouri State University graduate John Goodman will not receive an honorary degree from the Springfield school today as planned.
MSU says instead, the university will confer the honorary degree of doctor of humane letters on one of its most famous graduates at its August convocation. University President Clif Smart tells The Springfield News-Leader Goodman couldn’t attend today’s ceremonies because his daughter is also graduating from college this same day.
