Governor Nixon has declared a state of emergency in the face of the major winter storm rolling across Missouri today. The order triggers actions by the State Emergency Management Agency and authorizes state agencies to be ready to heolp local juurisdictions.
Nixon spokesman Scott Holste says the govenror’s office wills tay in touch with thestate transportation department but does not expect any acations to be as drastic as the closing of I-70 during the big winter storm two years ago.
