Central Missouri at Nebraska-Kearney

WBB – #11 UCM 68, UNK 63
#11 Central Missouri outscored Nebraska-Kearney 10-2 on fast breaks as they picked up a victory on the road. UCM held UNK to .333 shooting as they picked up their eighth straight win.

For the Jennies Nicole Caddell had a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. Keuna Flax finished with 21 points and eight rebounds on the evening. For the Lopers Sarah Hix scored 17 points and added eight rebounds. Laramey Lewis scored 15 points and finished with five rebounds.

MBB – UCM 78, UNK 64
Central Missouri expanded a ten-point halftime lead as they picked up their fifth straight victory at Nebraska-Kearney. With the win and the Northwest Missouri and Washburn loss UCM now sits atop the league standings.

For the Mules Charles Hammork had 15 points and nine rebounds while Dominique Long and Widgett Washington each had 13 points. Reggie Stallings and Ryan Magdiarz each finished with 12 points in the game. For the Lopers Tyler Sheilds had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Pierre Newton finished with 16 points and Mike Dentlinger had 15 on the night.

Lindenwood at Missouri Western

WBB – MWSU 65, LWU 59
Missouri Western scored 17 second chance points as they held off Lindenwood to win their third straight game. LWU outshot MWSU but the Griffons pulled down 49 rebounds to just 34 by the Lions.

For the Griffons Heather Howard had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Lanicia Lawrence and Sharneice Lewis each added 13 points on the evening. For the Lions Sarah Schnieders scored 16 points with five rebounds and Marissa Lehnig scored 15 points with five rebounds. Caroline Bourlious had 13 points and pulled down nine rebounds.

MBB – LWU 78, MWSU 69
Lindenwood shot .550 from the field on the road at Missouri Western to pick up the victory. Lindenwood shot .420 from the three-point line and got 24 of 32 free throws to move to 3-3 in the league.

For the Lions Alex Bazzell had 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Richie Thompson had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. For the Griffons Cedrique Clinkscales had 12 points and added six rebounds. Reed Mills and Kalvin Balque had 11 points on the night.

Southwest Baptist at Fort Hays State

WBB –    #21 FHSU 65, SBU 55
#21 Fort Hays State held off a strong second half surge by Southwest Baptist to break a three game losing streak. After trailing by 17 at the half SBU would cut the lead to as little as five in the second half.

For the Tigers Katelyn Edwards led the way with 11 points and eight rebounds. Kate Lehman scored nine points and added eight rebounds while Kerianna Shaw finished with nine points and seven boards. For the Bearcats Jacqui Zelenka had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Brittney Dukes had 17 points while Chasity Prince scored 11 points.

MBB – FHSU 74, SBU 59
Fort Hays State shot .530 from the field as the moved to 4-2 in the MIAA with a victory over Southwest Baptist. FHSU took a 14 point lead into the half and did not look back on their way to the win.

For the Tigers Ben Congiusta scored 17 points and Lance Russell finished with 14 points. Craig Nicholson had 13 points and Dwayne Brunson had 12 points and seven rebounds. For the Bearcats Rasha Brown-Peterson had 14 points and added eight rebounds. Jalen Loving and Damion Hooks each added 11 points on the evening.
Lincoln at Northwest Missouri

WBB – NWMSU 77, LU 60
Northwest Missouri scored 44 points in the paint and got 29 from their bench to pick up a win over Lincoln. Northwest Missouri trailed by one at the half, but outscored LU 50-32 in the second half.

For the Bearcats Annie Mathews had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Tember Schechinger and Meridee Scott each finished with 15 points on the evening. For the Blue Tigers Freddie Sims finished with 14 points. Arianna Walker added 11 points and Dahlia Booker scored nine in the game.

MBB – LU 70, NWMSU 65
Lincoln picked up their second MIAA win of the season hitting 19 of 20 free throws to defeat Northwest Missouri. Lincoln held on after taking a nine point lead into halftime as they won on the road.

For the Blue Tigers Cedric Ridle led the way with 25 points and six rebounds. Greg Motley had 17 points and Charles Cole finished with seven rebounds. For the Bearcats Dillon Starzl had 17 points and six rebounds. Lyle Harris finished with 10 points in the ballgame.

Truman at Washburn

WBB – #12 WU 52, TSU 47
#12 Washburn led by six at the half, but led by just two with one minute to play as they held off Truman at home. TSU shot only .290 in the game, but used an 11-3 free throw win to keep the game close.

For the Lady Blues Laura Kinderknecht led the way with 17 points while Stormye Everett had 14 points on the evening. On the glass Laura McMullin pulled down eight rebounds and Dana Elliott finished with five. For the Bulldogs Jennifer Conway had 12 points and five rebounds. Becka McHenry had 11 points and five rebounds and Amy Briggs also added 11 points.

MBB – TSU 64, #13 WU 56
Truman overcame a three-point halftime deficit as they earned an upset victory on the road at #13 Washburn. Truman used .540 shooting from the field and .500 shooting from behind the arc to pick up the come from behind win.

The Bulldogs were led by Tom Norton who scored 15 points and Seth Jackson with 13 points and six boards. Cory Myers had seven points, five rebounds and five assists in the effort. For the Ichabods Will McNeill scored a game high 20 points and pulled down five rebounds. Martin Mitchell added 13 points while Bobby Chipman pulled down seven rebounds.

Pittsburg State at Missouri Southern

WBB – #24 PSU 66, MSSU 63
Pittsburg State shot .532 for the night as they earned a victory on the road at Missouri Southern. Pittsburg State won the battle in the paint as they overcame 19 Lion points off turnover.

For the Gorillas Lizzy Jeronimus led all scorers with 24 points on the evening going nine of ten from the field. Drew Roberts scored 13 points and Y’Cedria Devers pulled down seven rebounds. For the Lions Erin Rice led the way with 14 points and six rebounds. Tee Singleton scored 10 points and Jolee Sharp finished with nine on the evening.

MBB – MSSU 87, PSU 80
Missouri Southern allowed Pittsburg State just three 3-pointers as they picked up a victory at home. MSSU shot .480 from the field and hit seven three-pointers of their own the ballgame.

For the Lions Marquis Addison led all scorers with 34 points and had five rebounds. Stephen Atkison had 21 points and Jordan Talbert finished with 10 rebounds on the night. For the Gorillas Rico Pierrevilus had 21 points and 12 rebounds. JaVan McGee had 19 points and nine rebounds while Courtney Ingram finished with 12 points and six boards.
