The only new face among state office holders is the new Secretary of State.

Secretary of State Jason Kander is the youngest statewide elected official in the nation. He won’t be 32 until May.  He’s a Kansas City lawyer, who already has put some of his top priorities in place–a Business Outreach Office to help people who want to start a business get through the requirements to form a company.

Early voting has been pushed by his two predecessors. He says he’s going to push it, too.

Kander has set up a commission of election officials, and other elected officials, and business leaders to suggest the best way to convince the legislature to pass an early voting law.

He thinks he relationships he has with the legislators he has served with in his two terms in the House will help get early voting approved.
