Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs have reached an agreement to become the team’s next head coach, in a five year deal.  Reid and the Chiefs were close to a deal on Thursday, as the former Eagles coach was in the process of canceling potential interviews with the San Diego Chargers and Arizona Cardinals.  The Chiefs plan to introduce Reid later today.  Reid flew into a airport near Kansas City where he drove to Arrowhead Stadium with Clark Hunt.

Reid will also bring former Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert with him if he accepted the Chiefs job, according to NFL.com.  Earlier today, the team released a statement on GM Scott Pioli stepping down.

Reid and his wife left a private airport in Philly on the Chiefs plane.  The team expects to introduce Reid later today.
