The National Weather Service has confirmed a weak tornado touched down yesterday afternoon near Poplar Bluff.

The twister snapped or uprooted 150 to 200 trees and destroyed a barn and an outbuilding and threw hay bales about 50 feet. The damage was found about 13 miles north-northeast of Doniphan in southeast Missouri.

The tornado rated an EF-1, with peak winds of about 100 miles per hour and a damage path 100 yards wide and about one-third of a mile long.

No injuries have been reported.
