For the first time in 16 years a Missouri governor has won reelection. Jay Nixon defeated Republican businessman Dave Spence. Spence called Nixon to concede and wish him well with his next four years in office. For his part, the governor thanked his supporters and his family. He said, “For the past 26 years, I’ve worked hard for the state that I love. And I will keep on working to make Missouri the best place in America to live, work, and raise a family. So, to the people of Missouri, thank you for your renewed faith and trust. Tonight, we celebrate. And tomorrow, we get back to work.”
