The brother of Kansas City Mayor Sly James, pleaded guilty Friday on two domestic assault charges. 55-year-old La Vance A. James was accused of pistol-whipping his cousin and firing two shots into the vehicle the cousin was sitting in. He was sentenced to seven years in prison.
