A federal appeals court has ruled that a St. Louis suburb can enforce a funeral protest ordinance.

The suit centers on Manchester’s efforts to block anti-gay protesters from Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas, which frequently pickets military funerals claiming the casualties are God’s wrath for America’s tolerance to homosexuality and abortion.

American Civil Liberties Union attorney Tony Rothert represented Westboro. He says he’s not yet decided whether to appeal the decision.
