The St. Louis Rams outgained the Miami Dolphins 463-192, but Greg Zuerlein’s 66 yard field goal attempt went wide left and the Rams lost 17-14. Had Zuerlein made the kick, he would have broken the NFL record by three yards.

“I can make that kick. I just didn’t come through,” Zuerlein said. “I came across the ball a little bit. I should have made it.”

The Rams scored their lone touchdown with 8 1/2 minutes left, then moved 49 yards to face a 4th and 7 at the Miami 48-yard line with 30 seconds left.

“The odds were much better for him to make the kick than us going for it,” Fisher said. “He’s got that kind of leg.”

The Rams touchdown came on a one yard dive from quarterback Sam Bradford. It was the Rams first rushing touchdown of the season. The Rams were the last team in the NFL to score a rushing touchdown.
