Cardinals manager Mike Matheny will go with ten pitchers and 15 position players for this first round game against the Atlanta Braves.   Matheny will have the flexibility to be make double switches, sending out pinch-runners or setting up optimal late-game batter-pitcher matchups.

Lance Berkman is not on the roster with Matheny saying he’s not close to coming back with his injuries.  Jake Westbrook is throwing on the side, but he is not ready to start either.  Rookie Shelby Miller, who pitched on Wednesday, was left off of this one game roster, and Matheny wouldn’t come right out and say it, Miller will most likely be added to the roster if the Cardinals advance to divisional play.
