A woman was killed this morning when she was hit by a stolen East St. Louis police car.
Authorities say the woman died at the scene. The man who stole the police car was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Police were called to escort a man off of a Metro bus because he refused to pay the fare. When he walked away from the bus, he jumped in the police car which was parked with its engine running. He crashed into a vehicle driven by the woman about 10 blocks away.
