After the Chiefs lost starting center when Rodney Hudson in Sunday’s game at New Orleans, they had to shuffle their lineup. In a move to add some depth to the O-line, the team signed veteran guard Russ Hochstein. The 34-year-old Hochstein, 6’4,  300 pounds, was released by the Arizona Cardinals this season. He had played the last three seasons for the Broncos and from 2002-08 was in New England, where Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli worked.

After Hudson was carted off the field, guard Ryan Lilja shifted to center and rookie Jeff Allen filled Lilja’s spot, leaving the Chiefs with only one more lineman–rookie tackle Donald Stephenson.  Hochstein fills a roster spot after the Chiefs placed cornerback Jacques Reeves on injured reserve.
