Tamba Hali and Brandon Flowers return to the lineup did little to help the Chiefs defense as C.J. Spiller ran for 139 yards as the Buffalo Bills beat the Chiefs 35-14. Spiller alone almost outgained the Chiefs who finished with 148 net yards of offense while falling to 0-2.

Matt Cassel finished 23 of 42 for 301 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, with much of that production coming in the fourth quarter. Dwayne Bowe scored both touchdowns on 33- and 2-yard catches. Cassel also fumbled. So did Peyton Hillis. His miscue at the goalline preserved a 21-0 lead for Buffalo going into the break.
