The 2013 baseball season starts on April 1st and the Royals will begin in the Windy City with a three game series against the White Sox. With Houston’s move to the American League, it means more games against the National League and the Royals jump right into it with a series at Philadelphia, following their three games in Chicago.

The Royals will also play at Atlanta in that first month. The home opener is April 8 against Minnesota for three and then Toronto.

Next season, there will be 20 Interleague games instead of the current 18, but they’ll play the Cardinals just four times instead of six. The Cardinals will be in Kansas City on Monday and Tuesday, May 27-28, and then the series immediately will shift to St. Louis on Wednesday and Thursday, May 29-30.

Other National League visitors to Kauffman Stadium will be the Atlanta Braves on June 25-26, the Miami Marlins on Aug. 12-13-14, and the Washington Nationals on Aug. 23-24-25. The Braves are coming to KC for the first time. The Nationals were still the Montreal Expos on a previous visit to KC in 2004.
