The St. Louis Cardinals have recalled right-handed pitcher Trevor Rosenthal and catcher Bryan Anderson today, both from the Memphis Redbirds (AAA) roster. Rosenthal and Anderson will report to Pittsburgh and be available for tonight’s 6:05 CT game vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Rosenthal will join the Cardinals for the third time this season. He has made five appearances out of the bullpen. Anderson is joining the Cardinals for the second time in 2012, spending three days with the club July 6-8 when catcher Yadier Molina was on the bereavement list. To make room for the pair on the roster, the club has optioned INF Ryan Jackson and RHP Brandon Dickson to Memphis.
