The Arizona Cardinals play the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday. After already playing a game on Sunday, the Cardinals didn’t want to fly back to Phoenix, drive two hours to their training camp in Flagstaff and then turn around come back to Kansas City. So, the Chiefs invited the Cardinals to come to Missouri early and the two teams practiced together Tuesday afternoon.

“It was a great benefit for us not having to go back to Arizona,” explained Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt. “We have a two hour drive to our training camp. So to not have to fly back to Phoenix, drive two hours to Flagstaff to be there for a couple of days and then drive back and fly here saves a lot of wear on our guys’ bodies.”

After an hour of separate individual stretching and workouts, the two teams met for matchups in one-on-one, inside run, seven-on-seven and 11-on-11 drills. Whisenhunt had nothing but great things to say about Missouri Western’s campus.  Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel turned in a solid practice with a good completion percentage and delivered the only offensive score for either team during 11-on-11 drills. Jonathan Baldwin grabbed two touchdowns in seven-on-seven drills.
