Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina could miss some more time following a sprained right thumb injuring that kept him out of the lineup in Thursday’s 8-2 loss in the series finale against the Rockies. The team will learn later this afternoon on how much further that absence might extend.

Meanwhile, Lance Berkman is meeting with team doctor George Paletta after limping off the field Thursday night. Berkman’s right knee was iced after the game. “It’s just not a perfect knee,” he said. “I’ve been scanned, zapped more than most players, probably, in that particular part of the body. I’ll let the doctor look at it and see what he thinks.”

Berkman is batting just .182 since returning from the DL.
