The St. Louis Blues signed 25 year old forward T.J. Oshie to a five-year contract worth just under $21 million. Oshie finished his fourth season tied with team captain David Backes with 54 points. In 80 games, Oshie scored 19 goals.

Blues general manager Doug Armstrong things Oshie is a key piece to the future of this franchise.  “We’re happy to have what we believe if a core piece of our team,” he said. “It’s consistent with our strategy of getting our core pieces signed. We believe we’re gong to be a very competitive team moving forward and we’re excited about that.”

The Oshie signing comes after the club secured 24 year old David Perron, another key offensive piece for this team, to a four-year deal.
