After former Missouri Tiger power forward Ricardo Ratliffe went undrafted by an NBA team, earlier this summer, he didn’t get down on himself, but rather, used that disappointment as motivation. Ratliffe has received offers from teams in France, Greece, China, Turkey, Italy and South Korea and could also go the route of the NBA’s Developmental League, but his goals are still set on the NBA.

I found an article from Andrew Astleford for Fox Sports Midwest, who caught up with Ratliffe, and reports the  6-foot-8, 240-pound second-team All-Big 12 selection, has kept busy playing and working on his shooting and ball handling skills. Ratliffe should know where he is headed and where he’ll be playing ball in less than a month. He just knows it won’t be the NBA at first.

If you would have asked him before the draft, he was sure he was going to be selected. “I was kind of disappointed I didn’t get picked, because I was hearing nothing but positive things from teams I worked out for,” says Ratliffe, who received attention from the Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers. “I figured I had a pretty good chance to get my name called.”
