His first appearance will be his Major League debut.  The 22 year-old Rosenthal has made 17 starts this season for Springfield, holding an 8-6 record and 2.78 ERA, which ranks 2nd in the Texas League. In 94.0 innings of work, he has struck out 83 batters (5th in the League) to just 37 walks, with a 1.11 WHIP (walks+hits/IP) which also ranks 5th among Texas League hurlers. The 6’2” righty hails from Lee’s Summit, Mo., where he was drafted bythe Cardinals in the 21st round of the 2009 draft.

To make room for Rosenthal, RHP Maikel Cleto was optioned to Memphis (AAA) following.  Sunday’s game at Cincinnati and LHP Jamie Garcia was transferred to the team’s 60-day disabled list.
