Kevin Youkilis drove in a run with a 14th-inning sacrifice fly Friday and the Chicago White Sox beat Kansas City 9-8.

Gordon Beckham reached on a walk and went to third on a single by Alejandro De Aza to set up Youkilis’ game-winning RBI off Everett Teaford (1-3).

Dylan Axelrod (1-2) got the win with two scoreless innings and the AL Central Division leading White Sox won for the 12th time in 16 games.

The White Sox had gone ahead in the top of the 12th on an RBI double by Beckham but the Royals tied it when Jeff Francoeur drove in Alex Gordon with a groundout in the bottom of the inning.

Chicago got home runs in the game from Adam Dunn, Alex Rios and Dayan Viciedo. Francoeur and Mike Moustakas homered for Kansas City.

Royals starter Bruce Chen went 4 2/3 innings, allowing six runs on nine hits.

Chicago starter Jose Quintana gave up five runs on eight hits over five innings.
