David Freese was amazed by his whole All-Star appearance and it was only the first day. The Cardinals third baseman was voted into the All-Star last Thursday after receiving 8.4 million votes via the fans. Had Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones not been added to the roster late by Tony La Russa, there was a good chance Freese would have lost. However, it is clear to see that many around the country felt Freese deserved the nod after his World Series heroics. That 2011 title is something Freese tries to put behind him.

In this clip of his interview session at Media Day on Monday, you’ll hear Freese talk about Jones and the time they spent together on the bus ride over to the ballpark. Also Freese shares comparisons between Tony La Russa and his new manager Mike Matheny and shares his outlook on this experience.
