Linas Kleiza, former Mizzou player and six-year NBA basketball vet now with Toronto, is the leading scorer for his Lithuanian national team vying for an Olympic spot this week at the FIBA qualifying tournament in Venezuela.
On Monday, in Lithuania’s 100-82 win over the host team, Kleiza scored 28 points in 28 minutes. Yesterday in an 86-80 loss to Nigeria, Kleiza scored 22 points in 28 minutes. He and Lithuania play Puerto Rico tomorrow. Kleiza averaged just under 10 points a game in 49 appearances for the Raptors.
