South-east Missouri is now in extreme drought, with conditions worsening from last week when it was listed in “severe” drought by the U.S. drought monitor. The areas of Missouri now considered in “severe” drought have also expanded. The latest Drought Monitor information shows that dry conditions continue to worsen across the state, and there is no prediction of prolonged rainfall in the forecast for the next week
