SEC Commissioner Mike Slive said “There will be discussions with different models, but my focus has been on a four-team playoff.” Slive also said that will continue to be the Southeastern Conference’s full concern, following a meeting of BCS conference commissioners in Chicago yesterday.

They worked on proposals for a four-team playoff to determine college football’s national champion and they will be presented the BCS presidential oversight committee with multiple formats from which to choose. The only thing off the table, according to BCS executive director Bill Hancock, is the “status quo.” Neither Hancock nor the commissioners ruled out a plus-one model, but their focus is on a four-team playoff.

The commissioners are scheduled to meet again next week in Chicago and the presidential oversight committee is set to meet June 26 in Washington.
