A statue of Dred and Harriett Scott has been unveiled in front of the old Court-house on the St. Louis riverfront. The Courthouse is where their lawsuit demanding freedom from slavery was first tried. They lost. The case went through the State Supreme Court and was finally decided against them by the United States Supreme Court
