The dean of the University of Missouri medical school in Columbia is resigning after less than three years on the job, and two staff members have been dismissed while a federal investigation goes on.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Dean Robert Churchill is leaving to prevent further distractions during the investigation.
