The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved the redrawing of Ameren UE’s property line around the Lake of the Ozarks. The change means all private residences and commercial structures at the Lake will be outside that boundary.

The boundary was proposed by Ameren to meet FERC’s requirement that the utility develop a shoreline management plan for the Osage Hydroelectric project. The new boundary line generally follows a 662 foot elevation except in some upstream areas, where it is higher.

Landowners at the Lake had been fearing they could lose structures on the Lake including over 1,200 homes. Federal regulators last summer had said some structures built over Ameren’s property line should be removed.
