Former TWA pilots are suing their union and American Airlines to protect their jobs in St. Louis. The pilots have flown for American Airlines since that company took over TWA bankruptcy proceedings in 2001. Now, American’s parent company has filed for bankruptcy protection and is negotiating a new agreement with the pilots union. The lawsuit says American wants to close the St. Louis base; a move that could lead many pilots to lose all or much of the seniority they accumulated while flying for TWA.
