Atlanta’s Dan Uggla hit a three-run homer and Michael Bourn also went deep as the Braves snapped an eight-game losing streak by holding off the Cardinals for a 5-4 win. Starter Jake Westbrook struggled with his sinker and only lasted five innings.
Yadier Molina picked up his third four-hit game of the season. He helped rally the Cards with a run-scoring single in the fourth, as St. Louis cut Atlanta’s lead to 4-2. Molina hit his eighth homer in the sixth and then, in the seventh, he came through again with an RBI single to right off Jonny Venters, making it a one-run game.
