Governor Nixon says Missourians will vote on the so-called “right to pray” amendment on Aug. 7. The legislature passed the bill last year with little opposition. It says Missourians can express their faith; that school children can voluntarily pray in schools; and that schools will display the constitution and the bill of rights.
The state and federal constitution already guarantees freedom of religion.
