Following up on his six innings of four-hit ball on May 5 against the Yankees, Royals starter Felipe Paulino allowed no runs on six hits and two walks in 6.2 innings, while striking out eight as he pitched consecutive starts to shut out New York both times as the Royals won 6-0 on Monday night.

It wasn’t like the Yankees didn’t have chances, they are just not producing. New York stranded runners at the corners in the first, had bases-loaded and no outs in the third, stranded runners at third in the fourth and sixth plus left two on in the seventh and another in the ninth.

Mike Moustakas and Jeff Francoeur homered and drove in two runs apiece for the Royals who gave manager Ned Yost his 600th career managerial win.
