The Denver Broncos announced that wide receiver and former Missouri Southern star Rod Smith will have his name and number inducted into the the Ring of Fame at Mile High Stadium. The Induction ceremony will take place during halftime of the Week 3 contest against the Houston Texans.

In 14 years, all with the Broncos, Smith had eight seasons of 1,000 or more receiving yards. He had two seasons of at least 100 receptions and was a starting wide receiver during the Broncos’ back-to-back Super Bowl runs in 1997 and 1998.

Smith is the only undrafted player to reach more than 10,000 receiving yards. Smith finished his Missouri Southern career with league records in career receiving yards (3,043) and touchdowns (34), along with Southern’s catch record (153). Smith was inducted into the Division II football hall of fame back in 2008.
