A state representative running for a Missouri Senate seat has been thrown off the August primary ballot. A judge in St. Louis says Representative Jamilla Nasheed is not a legal resident of the district now represented by Senator Robin Wright-Jones. Nasheed, who lives outside the boundaries of the newly-drawn district, had said she would move into the district if she were elected.

Nasheed can still appeal the ruling.

Wright-Jones is serving her first term in the senate. Democratic state representative Jeanette Mott Oxford also is running for the seat.
